Since being established in 2013, Johor Darul Ta’zim FC (JDT) have become pioneers on and off the pitch following a decade of dominance in Malaysian football.
The accomplishments on the pitch are telling as JDT are on the verge of a 25th trophy, need only one point from five league matches for an amazing 10th consecutive Malaysia Super League title, and have broken just about every domestic record — from scoring records, winning runs and cleansheets to unbeaten campaigns winning all four domestic trophies on offer.
In Asia, JDT are the only East Asian side to win the AFC Cup. JDT are also the only Malaysian team to play, score, win a match, reach knockout rounds and finish top of a group in the AFC Champions League.
Away from the pitch, the Southern Tigers have completely changed the landscape of Malaysian football with proper football infrastructure, something JDT owner HRH Major General Tunku Ismail Ibni Sultan Ibrahim, Crown Prince of Johor emphasised from the very beginning.
From having dedicated football training centres, quality football pitches and a state-of-the-art football stadium to a full-fledged football academy that encompasses education, football and accomodation — the Southern Tigers set new benchmarks for Malaysian football, one where there was barely any proper infrastructure in the past.
Commercially, JDT have made waves too with multiple international partners. Among the major players associated with JDT include Nike, Socios, Unicef, Hublot, Aston Martin Racing Asia, HID Global, Life Fitness and Universal Music.
Having dominated Malaysian football, JDT under the leadership of HRH Crown Prince of Johor have become among the most recognisable football brands in the region and Asia. Luaskan Kuasamu Johor.
