HRH Major General Tunku Ismail Ibni Sultan Ibrahim, Crown Prince of Johor remains the owner of Johor Darul Ta’zim FC as the majority shareholder. HRH Tunku Ismail will relinquish duties pertaining to football and technical matters to the JDT Management, but will continue to oversees matters related to infrastructure, commercial and finance.
What this essentially means is that HRH Crown Prince of Johor will no longer be heavily involved in aspects such as transfers, team discussions, daily team related matters, team activities, contract negotiations and such — all of which was part of HRH Tunku Ismail’s duties at the club previously. This latest development also means His Royal Highness will no longer be at the JDT Training Centre or Sultan Ibrahim Stadium for matches and training sessions on a regular basis, something he has always taken time off from his schedule to be at.
HRH Crown Prince of Johor has been actively involved in the day-to-day management of JDT in it’s entirety since the club was established in 2013, including providing a personal touch with the players, coaches and officials.
We understand His Royal Highness’ need to focus on other commitments such as State matters and the JDT management are honoured to be entrusted with this JDT responsibility.
