Scouting for fresh talent and conducting trials upon invite is a never-ending process for the Johor Darul Ta’zim FC (JDT) Academy
The Southern Tigers have a scouting network in Johor and throughout Malaysia looking out for potential talent to join the JDT Academy. These scouts include teachers, observers, coaches and more who though constant communication are aware of the profile of players that are sought after by the JDT Academy. Coaches at the JDT Academy also have continuous visits to the districts to unearth new talent.
Those who have been identified are then invited for a trial where JDT Academy coaches will further analyse their potential and suitability. These trials are conducted regularly throughout the year.
With teams from Under-12 all the way to Under-21, there is no age limit to scouting players for the Academy. School-going children selected are also offered education and accommodation in Malaysia’s only professional football club full time academy — JDT Academy.
Among the JDT Academy products to have burst into the senior team in recents years include Malaysia’s Most Valuable Player Arif Aiman, Ramadhan Saifullah, Feroz Baharudin and Daryl Sham.
The JDT Academy have contributed eight trophies in 2022 — including the President’s Cup (Under -21). Several JDT Academy players were also part of JDT II’s Malaysia Premier League title win. Luaskan Kuasamu Johor.
