Johor Darul Ta’zim FC (JDT) and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) are in final stages of extensive talks for a tailor-made Sports Science & Fitness Diploma Programme for school-leaving JDT Academy trainees.
The programme will offer JDT Academy trainees an option to continue studying while pursuing their dreams of becoming a footballer. Those that pursue a Diploma also have an option to later complete a bachelor’s degree. This will ensure these aspiring footballers have something to fall back on.
JDT & UTM have also arranged a briefing session for JDT Academy trainees to enlighten the youngsters of their optionsat the university after secondary school. Among those present included JDT Chief Executive Officer Alistair Edwards and JDT Football Development Manager K. Sukumaran.
JDT and UTM have had an excellent relationship in recent years where full-time JDT Academy Trainees live at UTM Hostel and use the sporting facilities there. The JDT Academy is the only professional football club full-time academy that offers football coaching, education and accomodation. Luaskan Kuasamu Johor.
