Korean media Naver Sports and Goal.com KR featured the rise of Johor Darul Ta’zim FC (JDT) under the leadership of HRH Major General Tunku Ismail Ibni Sultan Ibrahim, Crown Prince of Johor following a visit to Johor for the AFC Champions League.

    Among the things highlighted included how money has been well spent in various areas at JDT, the Southern Tigers’ state-of-the-art facilities being well kept, setting up of the JDT Academy with foreign expertise and how hands on the Crown Prince of Johor is at the club.

    Also mentioned was the club’s commercial attraction that has not only brought major brands such as Nike, IKEA, Unicef and Hublot as partners but also the opening of renowned food & beverages outlets such as Starbucks, KFC and Subway at the 2020 World Stadium of the Year.

    The articles also claimed that JDT has a growing popularity among K League fans following the three wins out of four against Ulsan Hyundai in the AFC Champions League in 2022 and 2023.
