The Utusan Malaysia newspaper reported former national head coach Datuk Ong Kim Swee saying that the local football scene needs more teams like Johor Darul Ta’zim FC (JDT) to attract players of higher calibre.
“JDT have proven the country to be in a good position in Asia through their AFC Cup win and AFC Champions League (ACL) participation,” said Kim Swee.
Utusan also reported that JDT have the best facilities in the domestic league — one of JDT’s key appeals.
