Youth and Sports Minister YB Hannah Yeoh told The New Straits Times that the state of Johor has set the benchmark for sports facilities maintenance in Malaysia under the leadership and expertise of HRH Major General Tunku Ismail Ibni Sultan Ibrahim, Crown Prince of Johor.
“I have no problem saying I want to learn from the best. I don’t know what’s the right word to use but I have no issues saying let’s learn from TMJ (Tunku Ismail),” said Hannah Yeoh.
“I think everybody knows how the stadium looks in Johor, especially when it comes to football. If we have a good yardstick to learn from, why don’t we do that?”
Hannah also thanked HRH Tunku Ismail for sponsoring RM1.4 million for a new Zeon Zoysia pitch at the National Stadium to replace the current cow grass. HRH Tunku Ismail also loaned the Bukit Jalil National Stadium a pitch protecting canvas on several occasions, including the on going AFF Cup and domestic Cup finals.
